What is VoLTE?
VoLTE (Voice over LTE) allows you to make voice calls over the LTE network instead of older 2G or 3G networks. This results in a more modern and efficient calling experience.
Benefits of VoLTE
- Superior Voice Quality: Enjoy clearer and more natural-sounding calls
- Expanded Coverage: Improved network availability, especially in areas with limited 3G service
- Faster Call Setup: Calls connect more quickly than with 3G
- Simultaneous Voice and Data: Use LTE data services like browsing or tethering while on a call—no need to choose one or the other
How to Enable VoLTE
Note: VoLTE settings may vary by device and software version. Many newer devices have VoLTE enabled by default and do not offer a manual toggle.

- Open Settings
- Tap Cellular
- Select Cellular Data Options
- Tap Voice & Data
- Toggle the VoLTE switch to enable it
NOTE: If you have more than 1 SIM on your iPhone the first step would be Settings → Cellular → Tap on your phone number → Voice & Data then proceed to turn on VoLTE.
