What is roaming?

Roaming allows you to use your mobile device on another network during travels, to stay connected. You may incur charges for any usage on the visited network.

How can I activate roaming?

Please contact our 24 hr Customer Support Center at (671)644-4482 to enable voice and/or data roaming on your wireless phone.

Will I be charged long distance in addition to the per-minute roaming rate?

This depends on the type of call you make. For incoming calls, you are charged a flat rate. For calls within the country you're visiting, per-minute roaming rate applies. For calls outside of the country you are visiting, per-minute voice + long-distance roaming rate applies.

What number should callers dial in order to reach me while I’m roaming?

Callers should dial your local Guam number as it is.

Can I use my voicemail service while roaming abroad?

Yes. To check your voicemail, dial 1+ 671 + 4880000. Roaming rates do apply.

How do I get billed for making and receiving calls?

Roaming charges will appear on your bill and will be separated from your monthly charges. Any free minutes allocated to your current plan will not apply.

What steps should I take if my roaming service is not working?

If you are having difficulty using voice or data services while roaming, try these troubleshooting steps: - Power cycle your phone by turning it off and then turning it back on. - Try manual scanning using the network settings on your phone. Select a network other than the one you are currently connected to. If you are still encountering issues connecting, please contact our 24 hr Customer Service Support at (671) 644-4482.

How do I minimize data charges when I use my smartphone while roaming?

To keep your bill predictable: - Turn Data Roaming "OFF" by going into your phone settings. - Use Wi-Fi instead of 4G/3G/GPRS/EDGE. - Be aware of the roaming rates in the country you are roaming in. - Turn Fetch New Data "OFF".

What is Roam Like Home?

Roam Like Home offers affordable flat rates per min/message/MB for all calls and text messages to Guam when you travel, as well as data consumed within the U.S., Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Japan, South Korea, and Philippines.

Do I have to pay extra for Roam Like Home to be added to my wireless plan?

No, as long as you are a GTA wireless postpaid subscriber, it is automatically part of your plan and free of charge.

How does it work when I arrive in the U.S.? What happens?

Once you land in the U.S., you’ll receive a welcome text message from GTA after your device has connected to a U.S. partner carrier (AT&T or T-Mobile), advising you of the applicable Roam Like Home USA rates. You will begin to be charged the first instance of either a voice call (made or received), outgoing text, or the use of data over the network when roaming in the U.S. Incoming text messages will not trigger a daily charge.

How does Roam Like Home work when I arrive in Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, or the Philippines?

Once you land in Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, or the Philippines, you must manually set your roaming network to one of the participation carriers to enjoy Roam Like Home roaming rates. You’ll receive a welcome text message from GTA after your device has connected to a participating carrier, advising you of the applicable Roam Like Home International rates. You will begin to be charged the first instance of either a voice call (made or received), outgoing text, or the use of data over the network when roaming in that destination. Incoming text messages will not trigger a daily charge.

What destinations are included in Roam Like Home – U.S.?

All 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

What destinations are included in Roam Like Home – International?

International Roam like Home destinations include Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, and the Philippines.

Do I have to be on a specific network while roaming in Japan?

Yes, you must be roaming on Softbank's network.

Do I have to be on a specific network while roaming in South Korea?

Yes, you must be roaming on SK Telecom's network.

Do I have to be on a specific network while roaming in Philippines?

Yes, you must be roaming on Globe's network.

Do I have to be on a specific network while roaming in Hong Kong?

Yes, you must be roaming on Hong Kong Telecom (HKT) or Communications Service Limited (CSL).

How do I select the roaming network manually?

If the participating carriers above are not automatically selected while roaming in Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, and/or Philippines, then you can select it on your smartphone’s settings. If you are using an Android, go to Settings>More Networks>Mobile Networks>Network operators>Search available networks>network. If you are using an iPhone, go to Settings> Carrier>Network Selection>Network.

Terms and conditions

These rates are applicable only while roaming on participating roaming networks. You must manually change your roaming network on your mobile device to the roam like home carrier available in the country you're roaming in. Failure to do so will mean that you will not receive reduced roam like home rates. Standard rates apply on any other network.
