GTA TeleGuam Adds Pentagon Channel to GUdTV Programming Lineup
(Tamuning, Guam – December 18, 2009)
GTA TeleGuam has added The Pentagon Channel to its GUdTV programming lineup as public interest grows on the military buildup on Guam. The program addition brings to 275 the number of digital channels now available on GUdTV, short for Guam digital television.
The Pentagon Channel
“GTA TeleGuam added The Pentagon Channel in response to growing interest from GUdTV customers who want more timely access to military information and news,” said Andrew Gayle, executive vice president of wireless and television for GTA TeleGuam.
“Consistent with GUdTV strategy to group channels by genre, we placed The Pentagon Channel next to the Joint Military News Network Channel (Ch. 23), the local military news and events channel, for the convenience of customers interested in these programs,” Gayle said.
The Pentagon Channel broadcasts military news and information for the 2.6 million members of the U.S. Armed Forces. Programming includes Department of Defense news briefings, interviews with top Defense officials, stories about the work of the military around the world, and general military news.
Since launching GUdTV in September 2008, GTA TeleGuam has quickly expanded its Internet Protocol-based television, or IPTV, reach into most villages on Guam as a competitive offering to traditional cable television. Because IPTV is 100 percent digital, it provides superior video and audio broadcast quality.
GUdTV now offers 215 digital television channels and an additional 60 digital music channels. Compared to standard cable, GUdTV also offers more high definition channels, more premium channels, and more international programming. All GUdTV television and music programs are grouped by genres to make channel surfing easy to navigate.
GUdTV rate plans start at $29.95 a month. Customers are eligible for discounts when they bundle their digital television service with other GTA TeleGuam communication services such as home telephone service, broadband Internet access, and wireless phones.
Customers can sign up for GUdTV at any GTA TeleGuam retail store in Upper Tumon, Micronesia Mall, Agana Shopping Center, Guam Premier Outlets, Navy Exchange and the new retail location at Andersen Air Force Base.

Guam Television Consumers Benefit from Choice, Service and Value
GTA TeleGuam marks first anniversary of its competitive digital TV offering
(TAMUNING, Guam - Monday, October 12, 2009)
In the past year since GTA TeleGuam introduced its advanced digital television service called GUdTV (short for
Guam digital television and pronounced "good TV"), about 4,000 customers have signed up for the service.
This acceptance rate makes the launch one of the most successful in the United States and the Asia Pacific region
in terms of year-one market share.
GTA TeleGuam's subscription rate is substantially more than 10 percent of all television households
on Guam.
"Consumers and businesses on Guam have wanted a competitive television offering for years, just as there has been
competition for long-distance and wireless phone," said Andrew Gayle, executive vice president for GUdTV.
"We believe GUdTV has been a factor driving overall service improvements and improved value for all television
consumers on Guam," Gayle said. "GTA TeleGuam forced the cable TV competitor to respond to our superior offerings
or risk losing market share. Everyone benefits from good, healthy competition."
"GUdTV offers broadcast quality and programming flexibility that is not available on traditional cable television
service. We have more sports, more family programming and more international programming," Gayle said.
To commemorate its first anniversary, GTA TeleGuam is giving new GUdTV customers who sign up during October
their choice of a free premium program for one month and a GUdTV umbrella while supplies last.
GTA TeleGuam attributes its strong first year to its ability to create GUdTV bundles that are attractive to
customers with any combination of high-speed Internet access, wireless and landline phone service. Customers
qualify for deep discounts when they bundle their services with GTA TeleGuam.
"We often see IPTV (Internet protocol television) operators quickly capture 10 percent market share as dissatisfied
cable and satellite customers flee to the newest offer," said Vince Vittore, a principal analyst with Yankee Group,
a global technology research and consulting firm.
"Getting more than 10 percent market share in their first year of operation, though, is usually a result of superior
service quality, dissatisfaction with the incumbent offers or a combination of both," Vittore said. "The key to
continued growth and success for all IPTV operators is compelling content, excellent service and continual new
offerings that add value to the customer experience."
GTA TeleGuam delivers digital television service through its typhoon-ready telephone network using Internet Protocol,
or IP, digital technology for improved video and voice quality. Traditional cable television uses
analog technology and primarily aerial infrastructure that is vulnerable to outages during severe storms.
"We want to thank the people of Guam for their overwhelmingly positive response to GUdTV," Gayle said.
"We have plans to expand our service areas and programming and improve our service delivery. The best is
yet to come with GUdTV!"
Marcy Tiong, one of the first GUdTV customers on Guam said, "Having GUdTV has proven to be a great choice
for my family and my business. We're very happy with the picture quality and the programming. Even my
clients are amazed at the great features offered by GUdTV, like TV caller ID! I expect my service provider
to be proactive with excellent service and the introduction of new value-added features. GTA has given that

Fiber capacity and power provides unmatched internet speed, digital TV and voice quality
(TAMUNING, Guam - Thursday, October 8, 2009)
Each of the nearly 100 new homes in the development has an underground fiber optic connection that can initially provide up to 100
Mbps (megabits per second) of bandwidth capacity. GTA TeleGuam can expand capacity up to 1 Gbps (gigabits per second) as demand grows.
Fiber connections allow residents to have ultra-high-speed Internet connections, advanced television with more high definition
channel streams, multiple set-top boxes, and digital video recorders without the bandwidth limitations from traditional cable or
digital subscriber line (DSL) connections.
"Buried fiber to the home allows GTA TeleGuam to deliver more services more efficiently and with higher quality than traditional
copper technologies," said Carl Leon Guerrero, executive vice president of operations at GTA TeleGuam.
GTA TeleGuam recently installed its first buried cable fiber connection in a home in Talo Verde. The company is now accepting
orders from other Talo Verde homeowners.
GTA TeleGuam provides fiber-to-the-home as a standard network offering in Talo Verde when customers sign up for
the company's advanced television service. Customers pay based on the number and types of services they want. For example,
if a homeowner wants three television set-top boxes, two DVRs and 10 Mbps Internet access, they pay only for the services
to which they subscribe.
Customers can bundle services to receive further discounts. Bundles start at $107 a month.
GTA TeleGuam already provides fiber access in most business districts on Guam.

$5 million 3G wireless network upgrade
(TAMUNING, Guam - Sunday, August 16, 2009)
“The rapid growth of BlackBerry and other smart phones on Guam is the primary reason for accelerating our 3G network deployment,” said Andrew Gayle, executive vice president of wireless and television for GTA TeleGuam. “Our customers and roamers on Guam from countries throughout the world will now have faster data connections for sending and receiving emails and surfing the Internet with their wireless phones.”
There are no additional fees or premium charges for existing MPULSE data customers to access the new 3G wireless network. New customers must subscribe for wireless data communications services to access the high-speed 3G network. MPULSE Wireless customers or visitors will also need 3G wireless-capable handsets to access the improved network for faster, secure Internet data transmissions. Existing MPULSE customers with 3G-capable phones may need to change the network setting on their phones to dual mode in order to access the MPULSE Wireless 3G network.
GTA TeleGuam was the first wireless company on Guam to introduce the BlackBerry smart phone in September 2006. Since then, BlackBerry and other smart phone usage have spiraled up with new styles and functions.

MPULSE wireless network to improve and expand coverage in Tamuning, Tumon,
Mangilao, and Barrigada where the company is experiencing strong growth and customer
usage. It has also expanded its in-building coverage on island.
With improved network coverage and capacity, customers will be able to make calls,
send and receive email and text messages and access the Internet while enjoying clearer
reception and fewer dropped calls.
“Quality of network service and reliability is the number 1 reason customers choose and
stay with GTA’s MPULSE wireless service,” said Andrew Gayle, executive vice
president of GTA TeleGuam. “Getting through on the first call attempt and keeping the
connection up both outdoors and indoors through thick concrete walls are important for
our customers.”
GTA TeleGuam latest network improvement is part of the company’s continued effort to
expand coverage, improve capacity and enhance the quality of its wireless voice and data
network on Guam. In the last five years, GTA TeleGuam has invested more than $70
million to expand and improve its communications networks on Guam.
Since introducing its MPULSE wireless service on Guam in 2006, GTA TeleGuam has
been the catalyst for driving overall service improvements and competitive offerings on
Guam. GTA TeleGuam was first to introduce the BlackBerry smart phone to Guam.
