Ad Flow and Design

• A successful ad design draws the reader's eye directly to the ad
• Keep the reader's eye heading directly toward the business' phone number
• Vary the size of type to keep the reader's interest and don't use a type style too ornate or distracting
• Highlight with reverse type, especially for the phone number
• Make sure your ad is clean, uncluttered, and easy to read; make use of white (or in this case "yellow") space!

So, how do you build an effective ad?

Answer these questions:

• Who is your target audience?
• What aspect of your business sets you apart from others in the industry?
• If you could convey the "personality" of your business, what would your business image be?
• What are the key characteristics about your product/service do you want to convey to the customer?
• Are there any colors associated with your business identity (logo)?
• Are there any colors naturally associated with your product or service?
