  • What happens if I exceed my data allowance?

    If you are on the $40 Postpaid Plan, you will be charged $10 for every GB you go over.

  • What is the new $80 plan?

    For $80 per month you get unlimited local voice, unlimited local text, and 10GB's of high speed data. Once you've used up your 10GB's of high speed data, your speeds will be reduced until the end of the month but you will not be charged for overages.

  • What happens if I exceed my data allowance?

    If you are on the $40 Postpaid Plan, you will be charged $10 for every GB you go over. If you are on the $50 individual Postpaid Plan or higher, you will still be able to use data and you won’t be charged for overage but, your speeds will be reduced for the rest of the current billing cycle.

  • If I am using Wi-Fi, will this affect my data allotment?

    By activating your Wi-Fi settings, you'll still have access to the Internet, but you won't use your monthly data allowance.

  • Is Roam Home included?

    Yes. Roam Home is now included in all new postpaid plans at no extra charge. No additional service is required on qualifying Wireless Rate Plans. To find out more information, see our roaming section.

  • If I am an existing customer on a wireless postpaid plan, how can I take advantage of these new plans?

  • How do I sign up to the new GTA Unlimited LTE Data Plan?

    Existing wireless customers can call 644-4482 to sign up to this plan. New customers can sign up by visiting a GTA retail store.

  • What is the GTA Unlimited LTE Data plan and how much does it cost?

    The GTA Unlimited LTE Data plan is $90 per month and includes unlimited LTE data, unlimited talk and text, and 5,000 Long Distance minutes to the U.S. through March 31, 2018. Starting April 1, 2018, standard high speed data policies will apply and will no longer include 5,000 Long Distance minutes to the U.S.

  • Will there be any impacts to my unlimited LTE data speeds with this new plan?

    No, you will enjoy unlimited LTE data and your speeds will not be reduced when you are connected to GTA's LTE network. Upon consuming 12 GB of high speed data usage in a month, GTA may restrict your data speed when using GTA's 3G network.   • How will I know if I am connected to the LTE network?

    If you are using an iPhone, there is an indicator on the top left hand corner of your device that will tell you if you are connected to LTE, 3G or WiFi. If you are using an Android smartphone, there is an indicator on the top right hand corner of your device that will tell you if you are connected to LTE, 3G, 4G HSPA+ (H+) or WiFi. You can also download apps for your Android smartphone like LTE Discovery that can detect and determine what type of service you are currently connected to.

  • I currently have the $90 Individual Postpaid Plan. Will I experience any changes to my plan?

    Yes, your plan will automatically be changed to the GTA Unlimited Data Plan and automatically include Unlimited LTE data, unlimited talk and text, and 5,000 minutes to the U.S. at no additional cost through 3/31/18. Your smartphone must be LTE-enabled for unlimited LTE data service.

  • Now that I have 5,000 Long Distance minutes to the U.S. will I be able to make unlimited calls to the United States?

    You will receive 5,000 long distance minutes to the U.S. (50 States). Once you exceed 5,000 long distance minutes, you will be charged 10¢ per minute.

  • I'm on the $80 Postpaid Plan, do I receive unlimited LTE data as well?

    No, the only postpaid plan with unlimited LTE data is the $90 Postpaid Plan. If you would like to upgrade, you may do so without incurring any penalty fees.

  • Will GTA be expanding their LTE site in the future?

    GTA will continue to expand its LTE coverage throughout the island.

  • Do bundle and HPO discounts apply to the $90 Postpaid Plan with unlimited LTE?

    Yes, bundle and HPO discounts will apply to the $90 Postpaid Plan with unlimited LTE.

    - When you have consumed 24GB of data, your wireless data speed on 2G, 3G or 4G will be reduced to 256Kbps and you will not be billed for overages during that billing cycle. Your wireless data speed on GTA's LTE network will not be reduced during the promotional period.

  • How will I know when I reach my data plan limit?

    You will receive notifications at 65%, 90%, 100% and 200% of your data plan allowance via text message and/or email.

  • What is a Device Plan and what does it pay for?

    Monthly Device Plan is the cost to connect your devices to your family share plan. It enables you to share your talk, text, and data with any device on your plan.

  • Why are monthly Device Plans different for each device type?

    The price varies based on the features and functionality of the device. Smartphones have a higher Device Plan charge because they typically use a lot of data, minutes, and texting compared to tablets which just uses data.

  • How do I know how much data I will need with the Family Share Plan?

    We have a tool that can help you determine how much data you will need on the Family Share Plan. GTA.net has a Data calculator that will help you estimate how much data you will need. If you are an existing customer with an individual plan with data then we can give you your average data usage over the span of 3 months.

  • What can I do with a gigabyte (GB) of data?

    Many things you do on a smartphone require data like browsing the internet, uploading photos to social medias, and streaming music and videos. Each task you do will vary in the amount of data you use due to file size. Sending about 100,000 emails, streaming 17 hours of music, browsing 3,000 web pages, or uploading/downloading about 350 images equals about 1 gigabyte. (Note: give customer handout on data usage or refer them to the data calculator on GTA's website.)

  • How can I manage my data on the Family Share Plan?

    You can manage your data with your device. If you have an android, you can set a data limit and it will alert you when you are close to exceeding and when you have exceeded it. If you are an iPhone user, you can track how much data you use each month by resetting statistics every new billing cycle which would be the 1st of every month. You can also call our 24 hour customer support and inquire what your current usage is for the month or visit any GTA Retail location.

  • Is there a way to limit an individual's data use within the Family Share Plan?

    At this time, there is no way for GTA to limit an individual's data usage, but if you or anyone in your family is using an android phone, you can set a data limit on everyone's device to shut off once they have reached the data limit. If you or anyone in your family uses the iPhone, you can download data management apps to help you manage your data.

  • I want to share data with my tablet, but I am currently on an individual plan, can I switch to the Family Share Plan without penalty fees or upgrading my device?

    Yes, you can switch to the Family Share plan without a penalty fee or upgrading your device. Just as long as you meet the Family Share Plan minimum requirement of 2GB per contracted device.

  • What happens if my family goes over the allotted data bucket?

    If your family goes over your allotted data bucket, you will be charged $15 per GB you go over.

  • Will I be charged for the full $15 per GB once I go over my allotted data?

    No, you will only be charged the $15 per GB if you reach 1GB. Otherwise it will be charged per kilobit (kb) you go over. If you feel that you need more data, then you can increase your data bucket without any penalty.

  • Once I switch to the Family Plan, can I switch back to my old plan?

    If the plan you were on is available, you may switch back as long as you meet the minimum plan requirement if you are on a contract. If the plan is no longer available, we have other individual wireless plan options available.

  • How does Wi-Fi impact my data usage?

    Activating your Wi-Fi, you will still have access to the internet and it will not impact your data usage. We suggest switching to Wi-Fi when it is available so that you consume less data and avoid going over your allotted data bucket.

  • Where can I see my data usage charges on my GTA bill?

    You can view your data charges under the "service detail" of the numbers in the Family Share Plan. In the "service detail", you can find how much data you used for the month under "wireless usage charges"; you will find "Local Data the amount of kilobits used and the cost. You can also view your bill online if you are signed up to pay your bill online.

  • Why do I need to pay for both a device and data plan?

    The monthly device plan is the cost to connect your devices to your family share plan. It enables you to share your talk, text, and data with any device on your plan. The data plan you choose is for the data bucket you will be sharing with the devices on your plan.

  • Can contracted devices and month-to-month devices go under the same Family Share Plan?

    Yes, you can have both contracted and month-to-month device plans under the Family Share Plan.

  • If I purchase one smartphone and bring in my own device to put under the Family Share Plan, is there a minimum requirement of data per device?

    The only minimum data requirement will be for the contracted smartphone; a minimum of 2GB of data per contracted device is required. As for the Month-to-Month, that can be used with any data bucket.

  • What is a Feature Phone?

    A Feature Phone is handset that does not have data capabilities. A Feature Phone only allows you to talk and text.

  • Can a feature phone be added to the Family Share Plan?

    The Family Share Plan is for customers using smartphones because data is shared across devices. If your wireless phone does not have data capabilities then you would not be able to enjoy the data that you are already paying for.

  • If I'm already a GTA subscriber and I have more than one line, do I have to switch over to the Family Share Plan?

    If you are happy with your current plan then you do not need to switch over to the Family Share Plan. If you feel that the Family Share Plan offers what you need, then you can switch over at any time and you don't have to pay a fee or renew your contract.

  • If I am a new subscriber, do I have to select the Family Share Plan?

    No, GTA offers a wide selection of plans. If you are only signing up for one line, then you can sign up for our individual plans. If you have a big family and you want to sign them all up for talk, text and data then I suggest signing up for our Family Share Plan.

  • Who are these Family Share Plans for?

    The Family Share Plan can offer good value for customers who have one or more smartphones on family plans. These customers will now be able to get unlimited voice and text messaging and they'll also get a bucket of data to share among the other smartphones on the plan. This plan is best suited for families where the individual smartphone users are moderate data users. It's also good for families where people talk and text a lot.

  • How can I figure out which type of plan is best for me?

    The best way to figure out which plan is better for you is to do the math. Look at your voice, text and data usage. Moderate data users who need unlimited voice and text will get the most value out of the share plans, but people who use a lot of data and don't need voice or text, may not benefit as much. Once you know what your usage is like, you can compare the different scenarios and price them out. You may find that one of the share plans costs less or the same as the plan on which you're currently subscribed.

  • Can tablets be added to share the plan without a smartphone?

    Yes, you just want to share data with only tablets on the Family Share Plan you can.
