-
Reliable communications is at the heart of all successful business now. We need to leverage Guam's global position as the only part of the USA on this side of the dateline and close to the major markets of the world's population.
Guam has US copyright and data protection laws and it's on the doorstep of the world's fastest growing economic region. - Asia. With Guam's position we'll be attractive to multinational corporations and add data and telecommunication services to complement tourism and military to enhance Guam's economy.

- NOC means network operations center. This is the nerve center for a network. It is manned 24 x 7 x 365. We also have a NOC in Dededo for back up purposes. GTA Always There® is something we take very seriously. Over the years, Guam and GTA has withstood the impacts of typhoons, earthquake, and unstable electrical power. You always need back up if you want to survive in business on Guam.
- Who will come and host in the APAC?
- Hosting and back up solutions are for small and large organizations. Any business that values data integrity and security should consider APAC as part of their disaster recovery plans. APAC will attract businesses on and off island. Right now businesses are having a hard time managing their communications and data because of lack of Information Technology (IT) resources. Even major businesses are courting disaster by not having a backup plan. Some are operating their servers out of an unconditioned closet! They are literally betting the future of their business, hoping disasters won't happen. Suppose you lost the last 180 days of business data? Will it be lethal? It makes a lot more sense to have hosting and backup in a secure affordable location like APAC.
- How did the relationship with Tata Communications come about? Is it exclusive?
- Tata is a communication transport partner. We buy services from one another. They buy our on island buried fiber ring transport and we buy off island transport from them. APAC is a natural outgrowth of our successful business relationship. We both work with our business partners too.
- How many undersea fibers come to Guam? How many fibers are coming to Guam?
- There are currently eight (8) fibers into Guam's three (3) cable stations at Tanguisson, Tumon and Piti. There are three (3) more sub cables coming to Guam in the next 18 to 24 months. The cables are landing here because of Guam's location and existing faculties. GTA TeleGuam is the only telecommunications provider with diverse Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) connectivity to all of Guam's undersea cable landing stations. All of this means that while Guam is physically remote, we are one of the most connected places on earth!
- What do you mean by an Asia region hub and gateway?
- Asian and multinational customers want a secure central location governed by US law to host and back up their data. US companies want the same and they like Guam's proximity to a booming Asia. Many players now want access to business and military customers on Guam. It's a natural for Guam as long as we provide first class facilities and make it easy for customers to transit Guam.Combine your Data Services with other GTA services and save even more!
